How can I bring my photography skills to the next level?
That is a question I get asked a lot and to be honest, there is not a clear answer to it, but from years of practice of photography I can say that the one thing you need to do is learn how to see photographically. And you know, learning to see it is a bit like learning a new language, once you step from that moment of not understanding to always understanding, you can’t not understand again, visual awareness is like that; once you begin to see photographic composition, you cannot return to a point of not seeing.
So, how can you learn how to see? Well, in my next online series of mobile photography workshops in conjunction with the Photo Museum of Ireland, I will be doing just that, employing techniques and assigning tasks which have benefitted me over the years in my own photographic journey.
Starting on Wednesday, May 11, via Zoom, and running for 4 weeks, join me on a photographic adventure as you learn how to bring your smartphone photography skills to the next level. Each week you will be assigned tasks to develop your own photographic style and to sharpen your visual awareness. I will give personalised feedback on each photograph you make and by the end of the four sessions, I can guarantee you that you will have produced photographs with the camera on your mobile phone that you will be proud to share, or gift to loved ones, and to print and showcase in your own home.
